With the H2H tourney in its final stage and the Team Tourney a ways off, we thought we'd mix it up a little and have a mini tournament this summer! Inspired by the recent forum suggestion of a Nikon vs Canon tournament, we bring you the first ever Boys vs Girls photography tournament

• All players must sign up to play (we'd need an even number on each side)
  
• To sign up you must have entered at least 5 photo contests
  
• There will be No collaboration
  
• There will be no captains
  
• All players must enter every round
  
• Team with highest average wins
  
• Played in Team Tourney Arena
  
• Regular trophies, with special bling for top 3
  
• Special bling for winning team
  
• 7 day submit/ 3 vote
  
• No shoeboxing
  
• 3 rounds
  
• Start June 1

Dear faithful MM fans,

We are going to try out a new contest schedule in Multimedia! The hope is that a predictable contest schedule will allow players to look forward to contests and thus boost contest participation.

In mltib (beginner) arena we will have a new contest opening every other Monday. The submission time will be two weeks per contest, followed by 3 days of voting. We will alternate concept themes and material based themes.

In mlti (advanced) arena we will have a new contest on the first Wednesday of every month and the submission time will be 4 weeks, followed by 3 days of voting. Again, we will alternate concept themes and material based themes.

Of course, participation will dictate if we can maintain this schedule or if we need to alter the schedule. So, enter often!

Note: this is just for the crafty type contests. Audio contests will continue to run as they have been.

The 2012 Photography H2H Tourney is near! For those who have not played before, this is an elimination style tournament where you will go one-on-one in a battle of photographic skill. Winners move on, losers go home.

Some deets:

Sign ups will be open for 2 weeks (closing Feb 28th)

First round posts on March 1.

We'll do 5-ish rounds (varies depending on how many play).

You must pay for your entry or have a sponsor.

If you flaked out last year, you cannot play this year.

Sad news: Effective immediately Worth1000 will no longer be accepting paid contests and Stafftech and Corporate will be leaving.

1) Corporate Contests are closing

Effective immediately, Worth1000 will no longer be accepting new paid corporate contests. Corporate contests have been a source of revenue for Worth1000 for a long time, but over the last year or so just haven't been happening organically enough to justify the cost of running the section. We've actually been losing money on it for more than a year and can't afford to keep doing so.

While I could spend additional time and energy to market it better, I don't have the time, bandwidth or resources to do so at the moment.

Sadly, it's time to just close that section down.

We're going to let the existing contests run their course, make sure all artists are paid up and all clients have their logos and then keep the section running for occasional fun or non-profit contests only.

It's been a good run folks. Thanks to all the artists who made that section amazing and the staff who helped run things.

2) Stafftech and Corporate (Amira) will both be moving on from their roles at the end of January.

Separately from what's been going on Stafftech has actually taken a new local job near her home (she telecommuted to us before) and we wish her the best of luck in her new position - it is a big step up in her career. Iz will be filling in for Stafftech on emergency repairs until a replacement can be found.

As Amira's role was primarily to oversee the corporate contest section, we will not be replacing her position with this change. Amira worked for us for 6 years doing a wonderful job helping manage the corporate section and general community and we will miss her dearly.

Beginning January 31st, the Contact Us forms will go to myself and appropriate admins. Between now and then Amira will continue to help resolve any current issues.

Please join me in thanking them both for a job well done! Worth will not be the same without them.
